Fine Form Around Filly
The Group 1 Guineas races run recently at Riccarton Park showed that the White Robe Lodge filly INFERNO is right up with the best three -year-olds in the country, despite being still a maiden.
The filly herself, ran an unlucky fifth in the 1000 Guineas behind Daffodill, after giving the leaders a big start and then being held up for a run at the top of the straight. Her finishing run, wide out on the track, was one of the highlights of the race.
At her previous start the Yamanin Vital filly had run third in the Listed North Canterbury Stakes behind Tell A Tale and Grimalkin. These two franked the form when running first and fourth in the $1m 2000 Guineas.
Inferno is now being freshened before embarking on a campaign aimed at the NZ Oaks at Trentham in March. The 2400 metre distance should admirably suit the filly, based on her pedigree and style of racing.
