Invercargill Cup Quinella For Yamanin Vital
The 2009 Invercargill Cup again illustrated the contribution of White Robe Lodge stallion Yamanin Vital as a prodigious stamina influence when he sired the quinella in the listed staying event.
RELAMPAGO, the son of Yamanin Vital and the Sky Chase mare, Elle Chase, won the race last year and ran out a convincing winner again this year. He races in the famous colours of the late Bill Hazlett and it is therefore appropriate that his next major target is likely to be the $100,000 Riverton Centennial Cup at Easter.
His major opposition came from another of the progeny of Yamanin Vital in THYMES VITAL. She backed up a last-start winning performance at the Wingatui Premier meeting with a strong staying effort, running on strongly from back in the field.
On the same day the most impressive performance at the Taranaki Premier meeting came from the Yamanin Vital three-year-old HERCULIAN PRINCE. He easily won a Special Conditions maiden over 1400 metres, showing his rivals a clean pair of heels throughout. He is out of a Woodman ( a three-quarter brother to former White Robe Lodge stallion Personal Escort ) mare who is from the same illustrious Hula family as Yamanin Vital.
