Another Group 1 Winner for Deceased White Robe Lodge Stallion 7/3/14

Whoshothebarman (Yamanin Vital - Ears Carol ) was very impressive in winning the G1 Auckland Cup in only his 9th race day appearance.  This time last year he was only having his first trial.  Prior to winning the Auckland Cup,  he won the G2 Avondale Cup. He is now being considered for the Sydney Cup by his trainer Mark Oulaghan.

This is another feather in the cap for our very under rated deceased sire, Yamanin Vital, whose name is often associated to jumps racing. Yet again he has proven that he was more than capable of producing a top class flat performer.  Herculian Prince was another quality fast staying type by him and was Gai Waterhouse's 100th G1 winner. Cut The Cake another of his sons, won the G1 NZ Derby.  Yamanin Vital was a definate up grader and did a great job from limited opportunities at stud.

Whoshothebarman is the third foal of our resident mare Ears Carol ( Carolingian / Auditive). This family traces back to one of White Robe Lodge's foundation mares, Lochlisten. He was purposely bred on the Sir Tristram - Star Kingdom cross which has proved successful before. He was sold off the property as a weanling to the O'Leary brothers from Wanganui.

Ears Carol is currently in foal to Raise The Flag. We have retained a lovely yearling filly by Nom Du Jeu from her. Whoshothebarman has two full brothers -  Vital Organ winner of 5 races from the Brisbane stable of Liam Birchley and recent winner Woolongong for Victorian trainer Leon Corstens .
