Who Shot Thebarman adds another group race win
Who Shot Thebarman flew the flag for White Robe Lodge stud at Sandown on Saturday (14/11/2015) with his win in the $300,000 group two weight-for-age Zipping Classic (2400m). The 7yr-old gelded son of Yamanin Vital - Ears Carol, bred by Brian and Lorraine Anderton added to his wins in the gr 1 Auckland Cup, gr 2 Avondale Cup and gr 3 Bart Cummings at Flemington, taking his stake earnings to $1.6 milion. His North Island owners, the O'Leary brothers, collected a $100,000 bonus for his latest win as Who Shot Thebarman had started in the 2015 Caulfield Cup.
Ears Carol foaled a filly by Raise The Flag on Monday (16/11/2015) at White Robe. She had a filly by the same sire last November. Brian and Shane are working a 3yr-old filly by Nom du Jeu from Ears Carol.
Gallant Defender (Gallant Guru - Upclosenpersonal), winner of his two starts for the stable this season, is having a two week spell to allow him to recover.
"He (Gallant Defender) was just a bit tired after two big efforts,'' said Brian.
