Success at Washdyke
White Robe Lodge trainers Brian and Shane Anderton won both $20,000 open jumping races and an $8000 rating 85 flat race at the South Canterbury meeting at Washdyke on Friday (July 10, 2015). High Forty posted his fourth steeplechase win on end this winter and Harry Hill completed successive hurdle wins. News Flash won the rating 85. The trio were all bred at WRL with the jumpers both by the deceased Danzighill and News Flash by Gallant Guru. Brian and Shane have won 44 races this season, their best tally since the 2000-01 season when they won 55 races. High Forty and Harry Hill are now headed for the Grand Nationals at Riccarton in early August. High Forty may contest the Koral Steeple on the first day of the National meeting. He ran third in the Koral last year and fourth in the National a week later.
"He was a bit green last year and is a lot more seasoned now,'' said Brian.
The same could be said for Harry Hill, who fell in the closing stages of the 0-1win hurdle on the third day of the National meeting last year.
