Gallant Guru stock continue winning
The Barmaid and Gold'nguru kept the ball rolling for White Robe Lodge stallion Gallant Guru with wins at Riverton on Saturday (9/4/2016) following the win of Mal d'Mour at Washdyke on Friday. The Barmaid won a $12,000 Pearl series race for Woodlands owner-trainers, the Dennis brothers and Robert Dennis. It was the fourth win for The Barmaid. Goldn'guru is trained at Winton by Leda Beck for Murray Forde, a Winton dairy farmer and the estate of Eamon Cleary. They bred Goldn'guru after being loaned the mare, Ijustgot Personal by WRL. Mr Cleary, an Irish-born billionaire businessman, died at his stud, Clearsky Farm, in Kentucky at the age of 52 in 2012, 10 months after Gold'guru was foaled. He raced horses throughout the world, among them Rand, Rags To Riches and Real Tonic. Rags To Riches won the group one Easter Handicap at Ellerslie in 2006. Rand won the 2000 New Zealand Grand National Hurdles, the Pegasus Steeple in Japan and a hurdles in the United States. Real Tonic won the 2006 Great Northern Steeple, Great Eastern Steeple at Oakbank and a Waikato Hurdles. Mr Cleary established the chair in Irish studies at the University of Otago in 2006 which led to the centre for Irish and Scottish Studies, the only one of its kind in the southern hemisphere. Gold'nguru is one of two foals left by Itjustgot Personal (Personal Escort -Tympanum), a sister to Personal Drum, winner of the 2006 Grand National Steeplechase at Flemington and Hiskins Steeple at Moonee Valley. Tympanum was a winning daughter of Tawfiq and Auditory, winner of the 1982 Riverton Cup.The Barmaid is bred on the same cross at Gold'nguru, being out of the Personal Escort mare, The Gem.
